We are a locally owned and operated dental surgery. Many dental clinics around Australia are owned by corporate entities, some of which are insurance companies. Very often the name of the clinic that you have been attending remains the same but is sold to a corporate with the principal dentist becoming an employee of the corporate. We are not a shopfront for a corporate. Whatever profits are made at our clinic, stay right here in Adelaide & are spent here, in fact even more so locally as Dr Zielinski lives in the area. Spending local is good for the local economy. Corporates are often based interstate & some are even foreign, so the profits are unlikely to stay here. Corporate entities have obligations to shareholders & are run for profit with patient needs not being at the top of the list.

Another shift in dentistry in Australia in recent years is, for various reasons, an “out sourcing” of dental treatment as such. Years ago, a dentist was capable and willing to perform all facets of dentistry; extractions, root canals, dentures, fillings crowns etc. Today , dentures are no longer done by a dentist but given to a dental prosthetist to do, extractions are referred off to an oral surgeon, molar root canals are referred off to an endodontist etc etc etc leaving the dentist little more than fillings to do. We are equipped and capable of performing most dentistry inhouse with out the need to refer off what was once considered normal everyday dentistry. We refer off only a small percentage, 5% or less, of the complex cases because you have to know your limitations. We are an “Old School” clinic with experienced and adequately trained dentists to perform the easy as well as the challenging aspects of dentistry.

Firstly we run through a visual examination of your teeth to ensure that your teeth align correctly, we look for any discoloring, plaque build up, signs of infection and check to see if you require any fillings or minor dental work.
